I got my first tablet in my senior year of high school (about 6 or so years ago…), which was a Wacom Graphire 4 medium. But my current setup uses a 26” monitor, so that tablet is just too small now to work effectively on such a large screen. I would often constrain the screen mapping to about a quarter of the screen to get a comfortable ratio.
So I decided it was time for an upgrade! The only way to get a larger tablet than a medium size is to get a large size from the Intuos line, so that’s what I did. And seeing how it would be uncomfortable to work on such a large surface flat on the desk, I felt the need to get an angled drawing board.
But for some reason… they are so expensive (at least $60-$70). So I made my own! And I documented the process, just in case anyone might find this useful :)
(btw those boards for the main surface are $2 IKEA shelves. Everything else I got at a hardware store)
